Two weeks ago, we celebrated the sacrament of Baptism for Michael and had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Our church community welcomed him as a member during a morning Mass. My grandparents, parents, brother, sister-in-law, and sister were all able to join us before, during, and after the celebration, and many other friends celebrated with us as well. It took me a little while to organize and post the photos, but I have finally finished.
The service was very special for Jean, Michael, and I. We were honored to have my brother and sister-in-law be Michael's godparents. (Just between you and me, I think Michael's uncle Chris may be taking the whole Godfather thing a little too seriously.) I neglected to mention to the family that we had previously decided to fully immerse Michael during the Rite of Baptism. Their reactions were almost as priceless as Michael's. Though you can barely make it out in this photo, you can be sure that every one of his little muscles are tensed and his lungs are testifying to his "excitement". We completed the celebration by sharing a meal with family and friends. Jean and I are both very thankful to God and everyone who joined us in person or in spirit to celebrate such a joyous occasion.
I am a little behind, but I have been gradually uploading more photos to Flickr and will continue to blog about them. There are many more photos of our son where these came from!
